Anna and Chris

In a Colorado mountain meadow surrounded by peaks, wildflowers and a small circle of family and friends, Chris and Anna’s ceremony was filled with humor and meaning. Personal vows and a community vow, readings by Billy Collins and Ansel Adams, a shared ring blessing and a beautiful wedding certificate that everyone signed as witness to this wonderful union.
Dear Debbie,
Thank you so much for accompanying us through the process of preparing for our wedding. I know wedding planning could be anxiety-producing — but for us, thanks in large part to working with you on the ceremony, it was the opposite of that; it was a thoughtful, profound, deepening process. At the wedding itself you were a steadying, beautiful presence that kept us grounded in the moment. You navigated our families’ (and our own) various relationships with spirituality with total ease. And you are such an incredible planner that you made it possible to focus on the important parts of the wedding, rather than worrying about logistics or anything else. Thank you thank you.
Love,
Anna and Chris
Dear Debbie,
Many thanks to you. I hope you have seen some of the beautiful photos of Chris and Anna’s wedding. It was a magical day and wedding, in no small part due to your work in creating wonderful memories for all of us!
Thanks again and love from,
Sue (mother of the groom)
Cathy and Marcy

Soul mates and musical partners for over 30 years, it was my honor to write and officiate a ceremony to make legal this beautiful relationship. With music, poetry and testimonials, Marcy and Cathy celebrated their marriage in the company of their nearest and dearest friends and family. Festive and informal, hilarious and heartfelt this ceremony was a clear reflection of the love they have for each other and their large extended family.
Thank you so much. The ceremony was just how we wanted our celebratory experience to go. You were thoughtful, thorough and full of compassion and good humor. We appreciated your wisdom and intuition as well as your ability to see opportunities for a light-hearted moment. You led the wedding with grace, charm and exquisite taste while constantly adjusting to the needs of our family and friends.
Cathy & Marcy
Joyful is how I think of the wedding ceremony you officiated for Cathy & Marcy. It was hands down one of the most amazing celebrations I have ever been a part of. I loved that you included all of us in the proceedings in that easy way you have of making people feel comfortable. The event truly represented Cathy & Marcy: their personalities, their feelings, their thoughts, their humor. You made it look so effortless but I know the time and attention that was dedicated to creating such a memorable occasion. I smile every time I think of it.

Jenna and Alex

High school sweethearts whose love only deepened with time apart – Jenna and Alex were married in a Vermont mountain meadow not far from where they grew up and fell in love. Tender and touching, their ceremony included a procession with all of their guests, advice from and honoring of their elders, wonderful readings and a Greek wedding tradition to honor Alex’s heritage. And, their dog.
Dear Debbie,
We would like to say a sincere and heartfelt thank you for helping us to create, and for being part of, the best day of our lives. With your guidance, our ceremony was incredibly meaningful not only to both of us, but for our guests as well. Our friends and family haven’t stopped raving about how it was “the wedding of the year” and you were such a large part of that. You are an amazing person with a wonderful caring heart. You helped us with every aspect of the ceremony, going out of your way to make it a very special day for us. You have a natural ability to put people at ease and your presence was a grounding source for us, both during the planning and on the day of. Your sense of humor brightened our day and helped us get through the ceremony with minimal nerves, but with lots of laughs and smiles! Our wedding day would not have been the same without you and we could not recommend your services more. Thanks again for everything.
Love,
Jenna and Alex
Dear Debbie,
We can never thank you enough for helping to make the wedding a day of pure joy and delight. The ceremony was beyond beautiful. It transcended time, filled all our hearts with love, and overwhelmed us with gratitude. After such an experience, it was a given that the rest of the evening would be a love fest, full of hugs, smiles and laughter. We were truly blessed to have you as a celebrant. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Love,
David and Kim (parents of the bride)
Lily and Eric

Friends since Kindergarten and through high school, Lily and Eric reconnected as independent adults. Their wedding was filled with poignancy and fun, family and friends through readings, music, surprising “love notes” to each other and a touching moment when they spoke to their new in-laws – words of gratitude, love and hope.
Dear Debbie,
Thank you so much for creating the perfect ceremony for us on our wedding day! Your ability to take our words and stories and craft them into such a personal and heartfelt ceremony is exceptional to say the least. Moments of profound beauty and poetry were woven together with moments of happiness and laughter in a way that was so refreshingly natural. The most often heard words from our many guests were, without question, “that was SUCH a BEAUTIFUL ceremony!” and “your ceremony brought us back to our wedding day.” You are truly, an artist. Perhaps most importantly, your guidance during the planning process proved invaluable to us in having a blissful and unforgettable wedding and kept us centered on what was important. You have a strong and caring heart that carried us through those pre-wedding days. From the bottom of our hearts we are forever thankful for the amount of time, thought, and love that you poured into making our ceremony so wonderful.
Love,
Lily and Eric
Dear Debbie,
Thank you for crafting a ceremony for Lily and Eric that set the tone for a day that was apart from all others. It transported Lily and Eric, our family, and all of those present into a different place. It was a chance to pause and reflect on the power of love, the meaning of marriage, and the importance of family. It was deep and meaningful and personal. I think that everyone present was moved by the beauty of the ceremony and felt that it was a day to celebrate Lily and Eric’s wedding and a day to celebrate life.
With much gratitude,
Suzy (mother of the bride)
John and Bill

Partners for 33 years, John and Bill originally met through their work on marriage equality. They lived, loved and worked together not ever knowing if it would be possible to legally wed. On a beautiful day, with a small gathering of family and friends they were joined in marriage in a short, simple but powerful civil ceremony at the MA Statehouse in front of a memorial to Mary Dyer whose life and work influenced their own.
Dear Debbie,
Thank you. The ceremony was exactly what we’d hoped for and more. Thirty-five years ago, we met through involvement in the effort to allow a young man to attend his high school prom with another boy. Who would have imagined that now we are able to marry! We wanted to make a statement and had years of stored up love and commitment to express. We wanted to show our love for one another, to each other, to our family and friends and, to the community at large. You managed to pull it all that together and you did that by talking with us, listening to us and helping us to express what we most wanted to say. Our friends and family were deeply moved and it meant so much to us.
Evermore thanks,
John and Bill
Deb and Susan
Introduced by friends over ten years ago, Deb and Susan’s wedding was a deeply spiritual, emotional and intimate ceremony. With readings, prayer, music and a beautiful remembrance of family now gone, their wedding was a powerful testimony to the depth of their connection.
Thank you so very much for the beautiful ceremony you put together for our special day. You captured the essence of our first ten years together so beautifully and our hearts will forever be filled with the spirit and joy you brought to our wedding day. May you continue to be blessed with this special gift.
Love,
Susan and Deb
Corey and Jamie

Graduates of the same alma mater (though they never met when there) Corey and Jamie’s springtime wedding was an interfaith celebration of family, friends, community and love. After a Ketubah signing, Corey and Jamie were wed under a hand-built Chuppah. They honored their ancestors and parents, were serenaded, received blessings, shared some wine and promised to love one another for all time.
We are so grateful that Debbie came into our lives. She is so much more than an officiant to us. Debbie took my husband and I through a meaningful exploration of what it meant to love each other before our wedding and we felt it prepared us well for marriage. She worked closely with us to design a ceremony that combined our values and heritages (I was raised Jewish and my husband was raised Unitarian Universalist). She guided us through the process of creating a hybrid ceremony that represented who we are as a couple. She modeled a process for us that we will use throughout our marriage whenever faced with interfaith decisions. Our ketubah signing and ceremony were truly awe-some. We were both surprised at how in-the-moment we felt. Many guests remarked that ours was the BEST ceremony they had ever been to, that it strengthened their marriage, that they were reminded of why they got married, that the spirituality of our wedding stayed with them for days. We loved working with Debbie and hope she will remain a part of our lives for years to come. We would absolutely highly recommend hiring her as your officiant.

Molly and Ryan

Though Molly and Ryan live in Utah, they were married on Rhode Island’s oceanfront close to Molly’s family. Their journey to this moment of sunshine and ocean breezes included six years, four moves, three dogs and two career changes. With original vows, a wedding certificate and friends and family surrounding them, Molly and Ryan’s ceremony was a beautiful and heartfelt testimony to their love.
We cannot express the gratitude we feel for the attentiveness and effort you made in creating our ceremony. With gentle guidance, you helped us develop the story of our relationship and allowed us to share the most intimate part of ourselves with our loved ones. You were so much more than an officiant standing next to us, you became a support standing with us. If someone were to take away all the superficial details of that day: the music, the flowers, the food, we still would have walked away with the most amazing wedding. You truly have a gift, and we are so grateful you shared it with us.
Love,
Molly & Ryan
Courtney and Magnus

When Courtney, a Quaker with a degree in theology married Magnus, an avowed athiest their ceremony was bound to be non traditional. A beautiful mix of humor, spontaneity and depth that honored Courtney’s faith, Magnus’s daughters and his Icelandic roots, it included readings, a period of silence, a wedding certificate, blessings from parents and original vows – all adding up to a time of laughter, light and above all, love.
Debbie truly made our ceremony come to life in the way we had envisioned. She brought her personal, attentive and wise approach to every step of the process such that what we created together felt like a genuine reflection of who we are as a couple and what we wanted to express to each other and our community. She skillfully wove together elements of our different backgrounds, cultures and personal styles in ways that were authentic and meaningful. More than a few people asked us about Debbie afterward…”where did you find her?”…and then carried on about how impressed they were.

Lily and Henry
Sweethearts from their early college days, Lily and Henry were married on the 10 year anniversary of their first date. At an Adirondack Lodge that has been a part of Henry’s family for generations, they were married under a Chuppah created from belongings of loved ones who have passed away. With elements that honored their ancestry, family, friends and one another, the ceremony was filled with humor and solemnity and their 3 year old niece who was a very cute ring bearer.
Dear Deb,
What can we possibly say to thank you for the incredible, transformative, most awesome wedding ceremony of all time? We could not be happier with how the ceremony turned out – but more than that we were thrilled with the whole process of planning it and working with you for so long. You made us feel so good every step of the way – every email and phone call with you left us smiling and you gave us tremendous peace of mind throughout the process. Besides choosing each other, we feel sure that asking you to officiate our ceremony was the best decision surrounding our wedding that we made! Your warmth, creativity, flexibility, confidence and laughter were amazing gifts along the journey. Our hearts are so full and we will treasure the memories from that day and the road leading to it for the rest of our lives. Thank you for everything.
Lily and Henry
Like the best life ritual you could ever hope for, this joyous marriage celebration confirmed and transformed us. Debbie reconnected all of us to what is precious about marriage and what we cherish about one another. She guided us to appreciate our children in new ways as this couple begins their married lives together. With laughter, wisdom and great beauty, Debbie ushered us. We are deeply moved by the tender, solemn and happy journey Debbie took us on in this beautiful marriage ceremony and we will be forever enriched by it.

Kurt and Kettya

Raised on opposite sides of the world, Kurt and Kettya met when Kurt moved to Cambodia for work in 2001. Kettya was his real estate agent. They became friends during the search for Kurt’s new home and love blossomed. Waiting to marry until it was a right under Federal law, they began to plan their wedding shortly after the Supreme Court ruling in 2015. Held in the Old South Meetinghouse in Boston, where Kurt’s ancestor was the founder and first minister, the ceremony included a Cambodian ritual to honor their ancestors, poetry, music, a wedding certificate and a Buddhist blessing. Surrounded by friends and family from all over the world, it was a ceremony filled with love, laughter, tears and profound joy.
From the first time we met you over the phone from half way around the world, we knew at once that you were exactly the right person to help us celebrate one of the most important steps in our lives. Over the course of year, you were with us every step of the way from co-creating our love story to giving us great confidence that we were making the right choice in our lives. When we met you in Boston six months before the wedding, the warmth we felt from you further cemented our belief that it was destiny that we found you. You demonstrated the understanding and compassion we were looking for in a celebrant. You listened deeply and suggested some creative elements that made our wedding even more meaningful. Together we laughed and cried at the wedding. You had the right tone and were able to tap into who we are. So many of our guests have written to us saying that you were an amazing addition to our wedding and that we were lucky to find you. Without hesitation, we highly recommend you to others wanting to have a very special wedding that truly celebrates the deep love between two people. It was an honor to work with you.
